The Changing of the Guard in Plaza Grande – Quito

Start the morning visiting the main plaza “Plaza Grande” in the old town to learn about the history of Quito, full of pre-Inca, Inca and Spanish heritage. Quito has the best-preserved historic center in Latin America, and in this walking tour you will discover the secrets of churches and monasteries from the 16th century, the life stories of our heroes and heroins from the independence revolution and you will be able to explore the golden church of La Compañía de Jesus and its domes from where you will have an amazing view of the mountains and other colonial buildings. If you love chocolate you will also be able to taste some of the best Ecuadorian dark chocolate made with the best national cacao variety “cacao fino de aroma”.

After a delicious lunch at an Ecuadorian food restaurant we will drive you to the Equator, where you can stand with each foot on each hemisphere! The Intiñán Museum, located on the Equator line is an interesting outdoor museum where you can learn about the natural phenomenon that occur on the Equator and do fun experiments! Don’t forget to bring your passport to get a stamp.
